The Public Schools of Brookline (PSB) serves over 7,500 students in Kindergarten to grade 12. We operate eight elementary (K-8) schools and one high school in the Town of Brookline. PSB is seeking committed professionals to contribute to our mission to ensure that every student develops the skills and knowledge to pursue a productive and fulfilling life, to participate thoughtfully in a democracy, and succeed in a diverse and evolving global society.
Responsibilities:
- Study and follow the curriculum and lesson plan as provided by the absent teacher or the principal
- Apply various teaching techniques (including interactive methods and game-based activities) to encourage participation and facilitate learning
- Prepare educational materials, such as notes, exercises and additional resources
- Assign classwork and homework
- Take attendance according to school policy
- Grade students’ assignments and provide constructive feedback
- Keep track of students’ progress and write down information that’ll be useful to the regular teacher
- Report any incidents regarding students’ behavior in and out of the classroom
- Maintain a tidy and safe class environment for students
- Oversee school equipment and ensure students use it properly

All candidates must receive A PSB suitability determination of any criminal history background, including fingerprinting and CORI. Current authorization to work in the United States. Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment.
SY2425 Per Diem daily rate: $135.00
Candidate is expected to report 3 days a week 9/3/2024- 6/20/2025. The following 3 day schedules are available:
Building Sub - Monday, Wednesday, Thursday (Tues. & Fri. available as needed)
NOTE: The school year is 180 days (provided there are no cancellations).
