The ideal candidate has a strong background and experience in woodshop and demonstrates a passion for sharing this craft with high school students. This candidate is responsible for creating a supportive, challenging, respectful classroom environment that fosters students’ natural curiosity while developing their skills and understanding of content. The candidate is comfortable employing various appropriate instructional methods to meet the needs of all learners. The candidate is familiar with the Massachusetts Vocational Technical Education Frameworks and has demonstrated experience with relevant curriculum. The ideal candidate can contribute to program development and curriculum redesign in a meaningful way. This candidate possesses a demonstrated skill and working knowledge of the shop environment, including safe use of hand and power tools and equipment upkeep and maintenance, and has experience teaching carpentry/wood shop and drafting. 

 

The ideal candidate prioritizes relationship building, has experience designing engaging learning experiences for high school students, and demonstrates enthusiasm for collaborative environments.
