Homework Club:

The purpose of the Pierce Homework Club is to provide a supportive, focused and quiet setting in which a student can complete homework assignments, discuss homework with an adult, and plan ahead for upcoming assignments and projects.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Day to day responsibilities of the Home Work Club (HWC)
• Ensuring that all policies and procedures are being adhered to
• Ensuring that the room is prepared before the Home Work Club begins and cleaned up after each session  
• Ensuring the safety and well-being of children while attending
• Ensuring that the materials are well maintained and safe to use
• Ensuring that all relevant records are maintained. This includes record keeping of student’s attendance and reporting of absences 
• Assisting children with homework - this can include advice and instruction on a one-to one basis or in small groups
• Management of snacks for homework club – this may involve collection and laying out of snacks on a daily basis
• Planning the daily activities of the Homework Club together with other club teachers
• Communicating with parent(s), teacher(s) and administrator(s) regarding the progress of children on an as needed basis
