Job Description:
The RISE Program Lead Special Education Teacher will serve as the liaison for students with a range of mild to moderate special needs. Some students will receive a significant amount of instruction in small group settings, while others will spend most or all of their day in the general education setting
Qualifications:
- Massachusetts DESE certification and licensure required
- Sheltered English Immersion Endorsement required
- Elementary co-teaching experience preferred
- Knowledge and expertise using formal and informal assessments required
- Knowledge and experience with competency based and/or proficiency based learning preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleague, parents/guardians, and others in the delivery of effective services
- Superior organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete formal and informal assessments as part of the regulatory process
- Monitor student mastery of IEP goals and objectives using various assessments and data collection tools
- utilize data to inform the development of academic and social emotional goals
- Provide individualized and small group support and instruction across content areas to target IEP goals and objectives
- Collaborate with general education teacher to adapt curricular materials in order to meet the individual needs of students
- Meet all timelines in the IEP process, including but not limited to participating in IEP meetings, developing IEPs and progress reports, completing evaluations and reevaluations.
