Job Description: The Public Schools of Brookline seeks a High School Math Teacher to work at Brookline High School (0.8 FTE) . This is long term sub position beginning on January 30, 2020 and lasting through the end of the school year (Approx. June 29)
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Teaching 2 sections of Geometry Advanced and 1 section of Geometry Honors
- Staffing the math help center some days before and/or after school
- Demonstrating appropriate long and short term preparation for classroom instruction
- Holding high expectations for all students and serving as a facilitator of student learning
- Organizing and using a variety of teaching techniques, strategies, materials, and technology to maximize the learning of each student, individually and in group settings
- Continuously assessing student progress, providing students and parents with specific feedback, and using the results to adjust instruction as needed
- Collaborating with colleagues to examine student data, plan curriculum, and ensure appropriate learning experiences for all students
Required Qualifications:
- DESE Math certification, 9-12
- Bachelor's Degree
- Strong Math content knowledge
- Knowledge about High School pedagogy and the developmental needs of students
- Ability to assess learning using a variety of methods
- A strong foundation in student-centered pedagogy
- Excellent classroom management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree
- SEI Endorsement
